Yesterday, relocated my inline fuse for the sub to my battery, from the enclosure. Ya know to prevent my interior from catching fire

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Bought some wheels and tires today. Had to drive all the way to Athens Alabama to get them.

One of them, the top one has some factory clear coat peeling. The rest of them look nice, not perfect but nice. Going to see how much its going to cost to refurb the one wheel, or I might just pick up another good wheel and use the blemished one for a full size spare. Going to need some tires as well, the one tire that actually has decent tread on it is a size 235/55/R17, way too small for the wheel, it has that ricer stretched look lol.

And yes, all four of those fit in the trunk of the Fleetwood. Wish I had a picture of them in there.

235/55 17 actually works quite well on those from what I've read on the wagon forum.

They're nice, but ehhh... I'm not a fan of them on Fleetwoods.

junked the old safari van. I called riverside salvage, guy came with a tow truck, slapped $150 in my hand and hauled off the carcass of my old van. not bad considering the interior was toast, there was a 4.3 block sitting in the interior, it had no trans, and the front of the van was destroyed. about the only usable things on the van were the rubber side molding, the windows, the sliding door, and the back doors. everything else was taken or damaged.

I think they give it a much sportier appearance. I thought about doing wire wheels again, but my old Brougham had them. Just wanted something different this time. Plus these were in my budget, I don't have $2500 to drop on a nice set of 20's right now.

I think it looks fine. I especially like that it doesn't have a hood ornament. Keeps it from looking like an old farts last chariot!

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Took Sabrina back to my mechanic to have the correct ceramic brake pads with cutouts for the sensors and the sensors themselves installed. He also reseated the rear door lock plunger that had been flopping around since I had to take it apart in April to unstick the lock. No charge.

Even better, I e-mailed my friend in Arizona who helped me with repairs on Betty, including pulling the engine and putting it back in when it was rebuilt 11 years ago. I figured George would know how to take the lock apart so we could replace the ignition switch. He didn't let me down; it was simply a matter of sticking a paper clip into a pinhole on the lock cylinder while turning the key, which pushed in a plunger and released the lock cylinder. I got it apart myself this afternoon, and miraculously enough, put it back together successfully and started Betty up. So now I just have to order the replacement parts and I hope that will take care of the electrical drain.
