Re: What did you do to your car today?

almost got my amp wired up. built a platform for it to sit on (so it wont catch the carpet on fire) and hooked up a computer fan to keep it cooler. I'm thinking about ditching the platform and just cutting a hole in my carpet. after all -the amps footprint is only 6x4 inches. I think I'll do that tomorrow (I can always put the carpet back If I decide different)
I've started replanning my rear speaker deck (since my infinitys have to be vertical to hear the bass (feeling bass but not hearing it is super freaky) gonna mount the infinitys upright in the corenrs and modify stock 6.5 speaker holders (from a roadmaster) to hold the alpines.
when I'm done I'm gonna have the bitchinest $50 sound system ever.

Picked up new front brake rotors and ceramic pads for Sabrina today. Provided the new crankshaft position sensor I ordered from Rock Auto comes in the mail tomorrow, she'll go in to my mechanic on Tuesday to have everything put in. Sheesh, he's made a lot of money off me this year.

I'm almost certain that every Seville I've owned will TEMPORARILY rise a tick halfway between TDC and 1 o'clock when I do this test. Within a few moments it decreases back to TDC and a few minutes later the cycle repeats. With the A/C on the silver car sits at TDC (or even *below* when cruising in cool enough temps, which leads me to believe the thermostat is stuck open), but that doesn't really matter because that car failed a block test 12000 miles ago even with that behavior.
Did that test after I got home from work yesterday. Temperature gauge did not budge. Interestingly, the fans didn't come on at all, even when I turned the A/C back on.

Gary, Your fans should run in SLOW any time an A/C or DEFROST (dehumidify) function is called for. Your car has a rectangular fuse box on the passenger side front fenderwell inner stamping. There's a legend printed inside the cover. Check the 2 fuses and 3 relays for pin cleanliness. The inner circuits of each relay are printed on the bottom of each relay - and those puppies are in those sockets TIGHTLY !!

Here's the fan circuit for 1999 (?) and later..............

Getting the car ready for autocross tomorrow, set the tire pressures to 45 front/40 rear.

    IAN:

Ray said he replaced the thermostat recently, which probably means he used a thermostat with a lower opening temperature.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Well I bought a waterfall 8 months ago for my Fiberglass modder to create the dock mount for my CarPC in the V. And when he pulled it out of the closet yesterday - His DAMN dog had chewed all the corners off of it!!!!!!!!! $150 down the drain. I want this done for Bowling Green Thursday so we took out the original waterfall and started cutting. We got most of the base peripherals in place. Today is wiring day. Tomorrow we'll create the fiberglass cover.
