Went back to the junkyard for more switches and doodads. Wandered around the GM and Mazda areas and came across a Reatta with VIC in tact!

Someone bought the display that was in the white one. I guess the good weather today got people out to the yard.

I'd love to get a VIC system working, put it in a wooden case, and use it as a desk clock.

The Reatta one is a monochrome computer style monitor (though I did not know it had that trick twirly fan), while the unit in the Toro Trofeo was a genuine 5 inch COLOR Trinitron display. The only other consumer grade use of those 5 inch Trinitron screens were a pair of portable TVs... One in the 1980s, and one in 1996 for the 25th Anniversary of the Trinitron itself.

Never seen it. Don't believe you.

    Find a video.

[I'd stick one in the Saab in the big cubby hole at the bottom if youre being truthful.]

Such an awesome car and SO far ahead of it's time. That was the potential Olds had, squandered away.

What's hilarious is the '92 STS we had didn't even have a legitimate FADE control, and this thing had a damn touch-screen GRID.

thats the amazing thing with some cars, especially obscure under-appreciated ones.

Its funny to see commercials boasting memory seats or automatic climate control.

I washed an waxed my car yesterday evening and a few hours latter a crazy dust storm came and buried my shiny STS in a thick layer of dust!
