He only drives it straight to picturesque locations of Chicago for photo shoots and straight home...

Inspired by Jesda's lovely review, Hoover and I took Betty for a drive down some of the area back roads. At one point, I was stuck behind (naturally) a plodding trio of Toyotas (1 Camry, 2 Corollas). When a long, straight opened up with no other cars in sight, I gently prodded the gas and swiftly, serenely cruised past them all in one swoop.
    America, f*ck yeah!

I have been saying him that a real estate agent needs a bit more luxurious car, else he will look unsuccessful, but he says no, Sonata is enough!
Those Sonata's are nothing special, but my buddy has an '04 GLS V6 with 160k miles and other than it needing a CV Joint and struts it's been a damn good car. The leather feels like vinyl and the fake wood is laughable, but it's a smooth, decent looking car. Hyundai has definitely come a far way though.

Every year I head to Amherst, MA for a few days. From my old place, I'd take Rte 2 to 202 and then cut through some tiny towns to get to Amherst. One day I get stuck behind some slow poke doing 5 under. The road is great but the nazi towns have no passing zones the entire 10-12 miles, or so. So I'm behind this goon for miles and I'm losing patience. Not only that, there is a section that is state forest that is very curvy. As I hit that section, I fall back to almost 0mph and let the turd move on. I wait about a minute or two. Then, in my '04 V, I hit it. Hitting my apexes, enjoying the switchbacks and getting some good speed.

Then, perfect timing. As I come around the last of a series of switchbacks, a 1/4 straight. And that turd was about 1/3 of the way down. I stayed on the gas and passed them doing about 90. They were shocked to say the least. I was going so fast, no way they saw me coming or got my plate. I hit the binders, entered the next series of corners and was on my merry way...

Those plodding Toyotas were long gone. I think I startled the lead Corolla, because he hit the brakes as I passed by doing ~70 MPH.

I had to stop at a T intersection and wait for a car to pass before I could turn onto another road, but as I pulled away, in my mirror I could see the first one emerging from the trees about 1/4 mile from the stop sign.

One of the best and most practical mods, cheap too.

Also in tintable for any color you want. I like the black.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Took me three hours to drain and flush the Saab's cooling system. The bottom radiator outlet is blocked by the fan which requires removing two turbo intake pipes, one electric fan, and a solenoid. Getting to the screw on the hose clamp was quite a pain. The battery also had to be removed. I must have sweat enough to fill a gallon bucket. Those two temp sensor wires with the red rubber shrouds were a very tight fit.

I also flushed the line going from the coolant reservoir down to the bottom hose (pictured).

Lots of cloudy crud came out and the car runs much cooler. Took it for an extensive highway drive and the needle stayed in the middle. We'll see what happens when temps hit 100F. I'd like to avoid the hassle of replacing the radiator.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Today she checks into the dealer's Service department for a few days. Probable, but unconfirmed, ball joint issues. Sounds like someone cracking their knuckles during any slightly aggressive turn.

The good news (if any), my "luxury CPO" (pre-2009 changes to CPO plan) covers ball joints. Please be covered by the CPO - whatever the issue turns out to be with her - I'm not ready for real repair bills yet.

Ahh, who am I kidding, I'll never be "ready" for repair bills.

Crossing fingers for a winner from the Enterprise loaner pool.

So dad and I installed his Kicker CVR 12's. My god, they sound amazing.

I used to say I didn't want bass in the wagon...

    I lied. That's my next non-functional mod.
