I'm sold on the Armor All Wheel Protectant

So I bought some of this protectant and wanted to see how good it really is.

I cleaned up the rims, polished all four and then pout it on the front one's only.

Then I took pictures of the front and back after one week, all I did was hit the fronts with an air compressor.

Then before I did it after 2 weeks I took pics, and then hit it with compressed air and took pics again.

This stuff is amazing!! Only thing I recommend is that it says to apply "liberally" Don't do it, consider it just like paint, and you don't want it to run. Any place it runs will leave a bit of a white residue. Other then that where I didn't do that they still look just as clean as when I washed them.

Little fyi on me is I drive between 4-600 miles a week, and they went through 2 rain storms here in Houston when I did this.

    Enjoy everyone.
    week 1 back

    Week 1 front

    Week 2 back

    Week 2 front pre air

    week 2 post air

That's impressive, and surprising. Most of the Armor All products I've used have been marginal at best.

The pictures do not do it justice either... I guess maybe I should have taken angled shots...

I do agree I was very skeptical. It says 3 weeks, but I won't make it 3 weeks as I have a car show this sat and I plan on taking the v... I think.

It's not cheap IMO, when I run out I may try the eagle 1 item that competes with this. It's half the price and twice the volume.

Re: I'm sold on the Armor All Wheel Protectant

I used it for the first time today, and so far so good!

It's funny actually - you can quickly see the areas you "missed" - they get real dirty, real fast

I made the mistake of applying it "liberally" and it ran onto the tire - cleaned the tire shine right off.

Question: what are you guys using for wheel polish?

    sybersport,

I did the rims first, then the tires.

I also used something called "flitz" It worked ok, but if you have some blemishes mothers works better....

Yeah you can really tell the area's you miss lol.

Why I want to try the eagle next. It says it last 2 weeks.... and 2 times the volume and half the cost.

    So I'll see.

Re: I'm sold on the Armor All Wheel Protectant

I tried both the Eagle 1 and Armor All products, and they left white streaks on my wheels. I've had best results by applying Wheel Wax on clean wheels, with follow up on subsequent car washes with Michelin Brake Dust Repellent.

This picture of the front wheel was taken probably a week after applying Wheel Wax:

    GDwriter....

I only got streaks where I sprayed too much on there, since it said to apply liberally. I think next time I won't get any.

Why did this get moved out of the cts-v forums????

Re: I'm sold on the Armor All Wheel Protectant

I know the Eagle 1 product says don't touch the wheels after applying, and I think Armour All says the same. With the Michelin foam, you wipe down the wheels after the foam dissipates. So no streaks.

It was probably moved out of the CTS-V forums because other members could also benefit from the information in this thread.

I put NuFinish on wheels before winter. On cars that generate lots of brake dust, it makes it easier to wash it off.

I dont' find brake dust hard to wash off. I Just hate how dirty the wheels get so fast.

These products do amazing things. I love it.

I like Simoniz Tire Shine. It lasts through a few rainstorms and if you avoid dusty roads like I do you only have to do them a few times a year
