I think the new XJ is kind of ugly, has a pug nose. Haven't seen one in person yet though.

I'd love to have that red Tessterossa, that was my dream car when I was like 8 or 9.

Also digging that 928, those always remind me of a frog for some reason, maybe its the headlights. Perfect Jesda mobile, money pit and all.

As for the one I'd like to actually own, that black 1964 Fleetwood sure is large and in charge

Here's pics from their September meeting. (I didn't go last month due to rain)

Real nice '88 Town Car Signature Series (I don't like the full cloth top, it covers the opera windows and looks aftermarket)

XKE? Right? Certainly a memorable design..

1985-88 Lamborghini Jalpa (powered by a tiny 3.5L V8, this was the '80s version of the Gallardo....the "baby" Lamborghini)

    A Stable of prancing horses.

    F430.

Looks like your typical mid '90s C3 right?

    NOPE!

R8, probably the best looking Audi of all time.

    599 GTB

    '69 Yenko Camaro

Beautiful '85 Silverado. Unrestored! Best looking GM trucks ever made IMO.

    635CI

A VERY rare Buick, the 1986 Century Gran Sport. Just 1029 were produced, and they were all fitted with the SPFI 3.8L V6 (not the 3800 until '88), four speed automatic, buckets & center console, digital dash with tachometer, heavy duty sport suspension, and blackout trim. In 1986, it was the second fastest Buick, after the Grand National.

Maserati BiTurbo. I was watching this guy take off, and it took atleast 10 seconds of cranking before it'd fire, and then when it started, a big cloud of black smoke came out.

Nice late '90s 3000GT VR-4. One of my favorite Asian cars of all time.

E30 equipped with modern 3.0L (3.2L?) I-6. Once you see one of these in real life, you really realize how small they are. It's about the size of my brother's '96 Sentra, and it's WAY smaller than anything BMW makes today, save for maybe the 1 Series.

I was talking with a guy who owns an E46 M3 about this car, and he says his is way bigger than these, and it's interesting to note how simple BMW's were back then compared to now...

Wow that's a lot of really cool cars. I love the convertible Lincoln, the Cougar, and that odd little Buick. I always wanted one of those turbo GMC trucks when I was younger. I still think they're cool as hell, and realize how very fast they were compared to anything back in those days.
The above post is my 2 cents....nothing more.

Good god the Century is ugly as sin. The proportions from the side profile are just...wrong.

Neat nonetheless, something you don't see every day. I wonder how many still exist. Usually all I run into are the T-type Centurys and LeSabres. It would have been neat if it was offered with a manual trans.

Yes, that's a Series I Jaguar E-Type coupe which were made between 1962 and 1967. The Series I E-Type is considered to be the most desirable of the various renditions of the model being the "purest" of the E-Type designs. It also is fastest and most sporting of the E-Types.

My 1964 E-Type coupe looked just like the one in the picture, but was done in light blue metallic with dark blue leather seats (with light gray piping) and interior.

They are uniquely beautiful cars that deserve the praise they receive. It is rare in the car world for a car to deliver such beauty and outstanding performane in one car ..... at a price that made them available to the upper middle classes.

I enjoyed owning and driving my E-Type for over 20 years, and am glad it went to a young fellow who colud gove the care it required and could enkjoy it for, at least, another twenty years!

Its SO weird seeing the A-body Buick Century as a sport coupe. I had no idea that car existed.

I didnt know this existed either:

I'm in love with the door panels.

Re: Cars and Coffee. Minneapolis's most exclusive monthly car show.

From what I understand, when the Century/Ciera/Celebrity/6000 came out in '82, they were quite the revelation. Small car size, big car room, and they drove a lot sportier than their predecessors, had a very European look (for the time) and were quite economical yet still fairly powerful (for their time), and for a few years, some of them were available with a Chevy sourced 262 CID (4.3L) diesel V6....yes, that's the same big V-6 used in the Silverados, S10's, Blazers and Astros, but converted to diesel, mounted sideways and powered your A-Body! Nowadays, they're just cheap, reliable solid winter transportation for the masses.

Chad, Are you sure you are right on the diesel 4.3 being from Chevrolet? The 4.3 diesel V6 came out in 1982 and the 4.3 Vortec in the trucks came out later, if I'm remembering this right. I believe the 4.3 diesel was an Oldsmobile creation, built by Oldsmobile, used in GM passenger cars only as a diesel. I've driven a couple of the V6 diesels and loved them.

Chad, I just did some quick research. It appears the 4.3 diesel V6 was created from scratch by Oldsmobile as a diesel engine, debuted in the front drivers you mentioned in 1982, and the chevy 4.3 gas V6 was introduced years later. The Chevy S-10 was introduced in 1982 with availability of a V6 with 2.8 liter displacement only for the first few years.

Re: Cars and Coffee. Minneapolis's most exclusive monthly car show.

Here's pics from the October 2010 show.

My car and it's Pontiac cousin. She's all dirty, but I washed her up this afternoon.

    Ford GT

    '63 Eldorado in fantastic shape.

I love the liberal use of wood trim.

    Gorgeous '63 Stingray.

    '59(?)

    So cramped inside!

'96 Corvette Gran Sport. Didn't they make like only 400 of these?

    '69 Corvette 427 (390hp, 460 lb/ft)

Looks downright roomy compared to that C1!

I love the hood view on these, unlike anything else!

    '82 Corniche.

'86 Silver Spur (Spur was the long one, Spirit was the short one).
I spoke to the owner of this for a bit, and asked him how it drove. He said it was very sloppy and numb, with lots of bobbing once underway. He compared it to an old Cadillac which sounds right. He said his '87 560SEL drives much better, which I'd agree with.
