Actually its not that bad- seals, suspension parts, etc. can be found discounted on numerous VW/Audi parts sites. You can fix and diagnose anything on the car with "V-A-G Com." software and Torx bits.

Kinda like the japanese import community though there are enough write ups available on the internets to work on stuff yourself.

However it does get expensive when its something "rare" that only the Audi/VW Dealer can fix- like alignment... . But thats why they're called stealerships.

Two center console bins ... gotta love it.
From the angle of the photo, it looks like the driver's seat is pretty much under the steering wheel.
Are you 4ft tall, or is it an optical thing? (sorry, couldn't resist).
What do you run for winter shoes in Minnesota ... something stronger than RWD and all seasons?

    Whew ... too many questions.
That silver part isn't a button or lock...I just push down on that to close the cupholders up...that's the sturdiest point on the assembly. And under the center console bins you see, there is another storage compartment that is air conditioned in summer, and it's got a roll-top drawer..on the older W140s, it was made of solid Burl Walnut, but this is leather covered.

And I'm 5'6"...I bought new all seasons last month and they seem to do pretty well in the white stuff.

Yeah. They considered driving an activity in itself and you should not be distracted by eating/drinking while driving, unlike us fat-ass Americans who need to do 8 things at once.

You have seen my other 4 cars. This is the winter beater 24 years old this year. 14 LBS of boost.
You can just catch my 1 ton pickup in the background.

I like that two-tone paint scheme on that 3500...very '80s.

Hell yeah! The interior on it is like tweed and in perfect condition...
Might as well whore it out.

It matched the 5th wheel the original owner (who I got it from) towed.
Those are brand new take off GMC rims and tires I picked up for 350 bucks.

Thats a beauty of a truck Mike. Second best body style behind the 80's white trash lookin ones. Your winter car is also in very good shape for a "beater." My winter truck is all holey (not Jesus Holy).

Re: Candid pictures of our cars.

Okay, I know I'm a little late here but it took me a while to borrow a camera that works. It snowed here the past few days and IL is the king of the salt spreaders so its pretty nasty. Here are the pics of my truck since the Caddy is in storage. I have also recently added 8 ft. of stainless steel wonder to the back of it. I have a confirmed range of 9 miles in the city but have yet to see what it will do on the open highway.

Some pretty bad ass icicles that have been on there for about 2 days.

The back is easily the messiest part because that is where I throw all my school stuff.

And here is what the Caddy looks like right now.

And this is the only thing that reminds me of what awaits come spring time.
