Retrofitted the headlamps with projectors for my HID's last summer.
I rented one in '99 to drive from Miami to Dallas. I liked it. From what I remember, it was long distance comfortable(as opposed to the Alero, which is NOT!), the shortstar loved to run in the upper revs(it was a bit of a dog down low) and it drank oil.

I also left my small change and bills, for tolls, in a bin. A good $10, at least. Ugh.

Yeah they're comfortable cruise cars. They're sisters with the Grand Prix (the Alero is the sister of the Grand Am). My shortstar isn't bad on oil, but I do need to replace the valve cover gaskets as I'm leaking oil down the front of my engine (just ever so slightly). People don't give them enough credit, as they do have plenty of power and (if well maintained - like many cars) can run forever.

It felt a lot like the Yamahammer in the SHO. Just not as smooth in the upper revs. But it had that turbo rush feel up top.

But, from Miami to Dallas, it used almost 2 quarts of oil...

I don't understand the idea behind the shortstar engine! The Northstar engine totally makes sense. GM and Cadillac wanted to design and build a modern, powerful V-8 engine. But why they decided to cut away 2 cylinders and make a V-6 engine out of it, while GM already had a very successful V-6 engine, the 3.8L!

While it's true the 3.5 is based off the Northstar it is not simply a Northstar with 2 cylinders cut off. It was designed from scratch. I suppose it was designed to fill a gap where there was no other DOHC V-6 in the GM lineup.

Boy.....I sure wish I could get a hold of a set of those ZR5 wheels like you have for my 03 ZR2 pickup. They are hard to find.

Are those CTS wheels on your 93? I thought those didn't fit Eldo's. Apparently, I was wrong, looks good.

Is it actually used before, or it is new?

I bought Carlashes for my DeVille but I thought that wasn't flamboyant enough so I also used electrical tape to fashion cat-eye eyeliner on. Yep.

Wow! That is really cool but you need to paint the top of the bumper red to complete the look!

I saw that you mentioned this in another thread, and thought it was a joke. .....I was mistaken. Words escape me.

Re: Candid pictures of our cars.

I see a Mini Cooper (Also white) with these all the time. They also have a set over the license plate on the rear.

Thinking about it now, I really do not want to know what the hair on the rear of the car is meant to represent.

Not necessarily any different than the older novelties.

Actually, there was a local Cadillac for sale a few weeks back that, if I had something to do with at the very moment, I would have bought immediately. It had the Headlamp half-shield covers and I actually think they looked nice on it. I wonder if I can find a photo of it...

    ----------

Found it. Oh, she is gorgeous.

While searching via Google Image search, I found a series of photos of this car as well. Nothing gets more "candid" than someone photographing my car while I am at a restaurant.
