Rain? It's this awesome thing we rarely see in Florida (Okay, let's be honest, it "rains" often here, but they're tiny storms that usually last no more than three minutes and cover no more than 1/2 of an acre at a time...we never get large rainstorms, like back home)

In a perfect world, there would be three months of rainy Autumn, three months of snowy Autumn, then six months of winder.

    I miss thunderstorms.

God bless those senior citizens who buy (and preserve for us) great cars! Too bad so few drive Corvettes!

I don't know. Where I live, the elderly are the only people who wasrw their money on Corvettes.

Dude, the Corvette market(especially C4 and C5 cars) are littered with just cherry examples for cheap money now days. In Corvette miles, 50,000 is a lot on a 20 year old car lol.

This. I knew a guy with a loaded 96 who had 30k on it. He never drove it and it looked new.

I don't know about the older Corvettes, but in this neighborhood the newer ones seem to be driven by women at the higher limits of middle age. They are in nice shape, maybe that is beginning of the Corvette stream of older cars that filters down to the guys.

BMW and Lexus seem to be the choice of the younger women .... mid thirties.

My son has two neighbors with some exotica. His next door neighbor has an V-8 Ferrari and another close by neighbor also has a V-8 Ferrari and two Vipers (this guy has a two level garage). No Corvettes around his neighborhood.

Re: Candid pictures of our cars.

Not sure about Corvette owners where you live, but nearly every Corvette enthusiast I know is a girl. Nearly every Corvette owner I know...is a girl.

I have an elderly woman who lives next door to me in my quaint, little town. I have recently become acquainted with her properly, as she is an avid automotive enthusiast and appreciates the respect I have for older cars. This is how we got to talking in the first place. Since then, we have swapped stories back and forth over tea on occasion. She was actually the owner of a brand new corvette, back in the early seventies. She is however an avid Oldsmobile and Cadillac fan (Olds > Corvettes. Fact) though and prefers large sedans.

However, she remembers a time, long ago, when I came home in a car unfamiliar to her, back in 2010. I was still working feverishly on the GTO at the time, so she was surprised to notice me with a new car. A New one no less...which was odd, as up until then, she only saw me drive antiques. I actually parked it outside of her house and she snuck out to look at it and fell instantly in love.

This was the first (of two) CTS-V's I brought home. Maybe I should get her one someday? There should be a program that gives elderly people performance sport sedans.
