Haha yeah the whole time I was thinking "Damn it would suck if someone came around that corner". Good job with the truck though... looks realistic. It was a small unused backroad though so it wasn't as major of a concern as a major highway would be.

What kind of camera do you have Gary? Those pictures are great.

Bimmer looks great, Gary. I bought supplies to do the same with Betty this weekend to get ready for two car shows next month. Sabrina will get the same treatment before Chicago.

^ You'll have to wash her again when you get here. You saw the pictures of what my Brougham looked like after only about 5 hours of being on the road. The bugs will flock to you.

Hey Gary, how far from the car were you? From the low degree of distortion, I'd say you went a distance and zoomed in a significant bit.

Get a profile shot! You could trace it and make one of those manufacturer drawings.

The first shot was at 165mm and the second at 200mm, so I was pretty far back. A lot of car shots are super wide, but I prefer the compressed telephoto look.

Oh, I know. When driving to Des Moines in 2007, I was cleaning off Cruella's windshield at every gas stop and had a boatload of bug debris to clean off the front by the time I got there.

I always do the wash/claybar/wax the week before and get another hand wash when I get to the city. STL to CHI is nothing like STL to New Orleans though. I killed so many full grown dragonflies on the bridge into NO my grill turned green. Dragonfly guts are acidic.

Re: Candid pictures of our cars.

Years ago, I extended a business trip to Minneapolis to go see my sister's family in eastern North Dakota, about six hours away. I had a white Chevy Malibu as my rental car, and we took it to the International Peace Garden during my visit. By the time I got back to Minneapolis, the front of that poor Malibu was completely black. I told the attendant at the rental car return that they might have to sandblast it to get all the bug debris off.
