[/B]I took it to St. Paul's best car wash last weekend.

Comparing 20 odd years of full sized Mercury goodness.
I know what you mean, I sold Mercury, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac. Gmc and Lincoln are still hanging on I guess. I feel like the Typhoid Mary of auto sales!

Car wash, you mean you don't use the "scratch rack" at the dealership!

I always loved those old square Grands!

^^^ Sorry, I'll take the Fiat Chick! Now if we were talking a new Alfa 8C, there might be some discussion!

I love that tan metallic color on the old Mercury. Cadillac offered something similar on the 90-92 Brougham and I think the 89-93 Deville as well. Called light antelope metallic.

Re: Candid pictures of our cars.

Light Antelope Metallic was only offered on the Broughams. The front wheel drives got a color called "Light Beige Metallic", that's what color my '92 SDV was, however, the beige on this '90 Grand Marquis is much pinker than any of the colors Cadillac offered.

BOTH of those are sad. Anyone who puts a carriage top on a CTS should probably be shot...

Re: Candid pictures of our cars.

Came across these old pictures of my old 1964 Series I Jag E-type coupe. It was in really good "original" condition and won several "best in class" awards at Jaguar Club of America "Concours d'Elegance" competitions a few years back. I sold it for a very nice price three years ago and it now resides in Florida with a British chap who is keeping it "original" aside from an exterior repaint (the car was repainted in its' originnal "opalescent light blue" back in 1979). I bought the car from the estate of the original owner in 1987. The car had been bought new at Peter Satori Imports in Pasadena in 1964 and had been maintained throughout its' life by my mechanic also in Pasadena. I hated to see this car go, but I had reached a point where I could no longer give it the care it deserved.

I can see why that one would hurt to part with, beautiful. Great color combo.

Re: Candid pictures of our cars.

At the back of my neighbourhood's main road (Which encompasses two other neighbourhoods by then) there is one that popped up yesterday evening (Yes, I notice when there is a new car in the area, even if it is a mile away and someplace I never have any logical reason to drive by) It's such a classic, I really should get a photo, since the new trend here is snapshots of ridiculous/interesting cars in the area (Someone go start that as a thread)
