    <<<Rolex loosens tin foil hat>>>

Ammo is damn difficult to find now days, especially at a decent price. Even the "cheap stuff" (loose packed, steel cased, berdan primed, etc) has become expensive.

I believe there has also been a scaling back in domestic production. Remington's factory here in AR recently shut down for some internal QC reasons, which won't help the shortage. What comes available is snatched up buy ammo hoarders. I've heard of single buyers walking into a store and buying EVERYTHING on the shelf.

Not a week ago there was a halt on the importation and sales of mil-surp ammo. The embargo was lifted after 10 days. Could this have been a pilot ban? Can't take the guns? Make the ammo scarce, drive the cost high, and ban the importation of cheap surplus ammo.
The above post is my 2 cents....nothing more.

    Reloading is the answer.

For a fall back position I'll always have my .44 Remington cap & ball revolver.

    Re: Post Your Weapons

I have enough old Unique, Winchester 231, casings, primers and different bullets to load .45 Colt, .38 Special and 357 Magnum for a very long time. Instead of branching out into the exotic bottleneck autoloader cartridges I kept a half-dozen lever action Marlin and Winchester rifles which take .45 Colt and 357/38. I DO have a couple of 30-06 and 308 long guns, but it's nice to pack one box of cartridges which shoots in both rifle and pistol. All my pistols are revolvers of one style or another.....the only autoloader I have is a little Colt .25 auto in the bed stand. When you stare into the front end of a .45 Colt Ruger single action loaded with Talon hollowpoints there's no doubt as to what's coming at you.

Better then in Chicago where you can't even possess a handgun. And people wonder why we have so much crime around here.

My belief on the whole topic is that citizens have a constituional right to keep and bear, and if envoking your constituional right violates local laws, then so be it.

Remember the old saying "I'd rather be tried by twelve then carried by six."?

It's true. Then again, you live in the city that produced Obama and his like.

I'm not a 1911 guy, but Les Baer is known for the accuracy of his AR rifles. I wouldn't mind having a Knights Armament SASS or LEs Baer varmint AR for the long range stuff, but for the cost I could build 3-4 "regular" ARs.
