Well, one thing that I will admit about my glock - I think the ejection area should be a little larger to allow complete rounds to better eject. It's not the best situation when you have to drop the mag to pull a full cartridge out.

    Re: Post Your Weapons

Well, I had to seek this thread out for the following reasons:

    1) My *old* house will close 12/27/07 (offer and deal yesterday, way too much earnest money to back out).

    2) My father in law recently moved to my locale from Montana. He happens to be an FFL. I just spent the last 3 hours looking through what I helped him unload 2 months ago.

    3) See 2 above. I'm broke. Way too many items to add to my already largish (in my mind) stash of 7 handguns and 16 long arms...but hey, you only live once, and some of the "...crack open, load up 75, lock closed, wind it up and snap it in..." is taking its tole on me (in a good way)

    4) I'm

I saw an article on a new 10mm 1911-A1 from Springfield, but I can't find any data on it on the Springfield site. What can you guys tell me?

Yep, that's the one. MAN I would love to have that freaking weapon!!

On a somewhat related note, I am really starting to go on a 1911 craving lately. Can you recommend any particular 1911 as a carry weapon?

I haven't had more than about fifteen minutes worth of time with any 1911. I've got the same craving though. I soooo badly want a Kimber and a GSR and now that 10mm one (thanks!) and a few others.

And, on another note, here's something funny!

Man, I would soo take that 10mm to Iraq. have you ever seen the Punisher with Thomas Jane?

If I had to have a purely home defense pistol, that Springfield would be it.

Speaking of 10mm: I know that it's a high-recoil caliber, but what about that as my concealed-carry weapon. I know Glock offers a subcompact in that caliber.

Just make sure you can shoot the damn thing. As it is, people bitch about the snappy recoil that my G23 makes. I can only imagine how much it would be amplified with the 29 given the smaller size and more potent cartridge.
