All this new style hardware looks like hell to me. Not too many years ago all the high class guns had beautiful wood and impecable finishes. Now it's all composites and Parkerized finishes and rougher than an old boot. Smith and Wesson and Colt made the finest handguns in the world and everything else was varying grades of junk. The only rifle you could bring to a hunting camp around here without getting razzed was a pre '64 Model 70 Winchester. How the world has changed. One good thing about it is that guns I bought new for hundreds are now selling for thousands.

yeah you got a point and I do so regret selling my nickel plated colt python... stupid mistake, and I keep trying to buy it back but he won't make the same mistake and sell it back to me but he claims I get first shot at it if he changes his mind. Thats better than no chance at all I guess.

In the late 50s I bought an S&W Model 1950 .44 Target new for $67.50. I still have it after having carried it for thousands of miles all over Alaska. Even with all the blue worn off I'll bet it's worth more than I paid for it. Firearms are supposed to be pretty and shiny; maybe even works of art. Sub knows what I mean. The military style stuff in favor these days is ugly but utilitarian.

THESE are classic pistols and/or weapons - the current cookie cutter Darth Vader stuff will never be..............(but, if you can't shoot straight, a semiauto .223 will burn up a LOT of ammunition in a short time.)

Now you're talking!! Correct me if I am wrong, but these sport utility rifles do not appear to me California compliant. Better hide your dog!
