dad and i went to gun show in 1976. he bought a springfield 1873 trapdoor. 45-70. with bayonet too. for $125. keep telling him to sell it. but he likes to look at it. says i can have it someday. has a sako .264 mag that i get also. cool gun. bought a roughed out stock for sako. years ago. just looked at it last week. keep wondering what were going to do with stock? butt plate area was scruffy so he bought stock material. never used it but i hate to get rid of it.

Sako's are beautiful pieces. I have a Sako Finnbear Deluxe 30-06. The bluing is like black onyx and the stock is more like a piece of furniture with hand checkering walnut, inlayed rosewood end caps and an engraved silver inlayed magazine floor plate. Absolutely beautiful!

recall firing the sako for the first time. i stood off to one side and about even with barrel and that thing was like a cannon. gotta check the bottom of the stock for the little symbol. sure looks familiar. i was at local hardware store. they had a very small ammo case. and they had a box of ammo for the sako. $7.95. but that was in 1980?

    Re: Post Your Weapons

A cool weapon in concept, but I'm not a fan. It's a pistol that doesn't so anything as well as a normal pistol, and a shotgun that doesn't do anything as well as a regular shotgun. It seems taylor made for beginners. Just my opinion.
The above post is my 2 cents....nothing more.

    Re: Post Your Weapons

I suppose my view could be the "glass half empty" view. One might say it does the job of both shotgun and pistol without owning two weapons at once.

    Re: Post Your Weapons

The entire concept of the Judge was panic, close-in defense, and that's the way it's advertised. It is NOT, by any means, a target .45 Colt revolver and it is NOT worth a damn as a .410 shotgun. Out to 30 feet away it is perfect with a load of #4 high brass shot - and you don't even need to aim it - just point it and a 4 foot in diameter cloud of shot comes down the hall at 3 AM. Use the 000 buckshot load and there are three .32 caliber balls headed toward the "target". It's as dedicated a weapon as the S&W .44 Magnum once was.

I want to punch groups of big holes in paper or drop a deer, I use a 7 1/2" barrel .45 Colt Ruger revolver with one of my pet loads. I want to scare the snot out of a burglar - or even kill him/her, I'll use the Judge. One is in the bedside table, loaded with two types of .410, as I type............

too bad the gun owners rarely get the chance to use them in self defense while the folks that could use them, don't have them.
