Do yourself a favor and get a real factory service manual. Ebay.

Chilton and Haynes manuals are only good for placing on a floor jack pad to keep from scratching your frame!

Definitely get a factory service manual. Wouldn't waste your money on the others. As Mr. Cabbage suggested, eBay. I got manuals for my '70 there, a good price is generally anything under $30 or so. If you need it right away, you may have to pay more. If you can wait, watch the prices and get one at a lower price. Get a body manual too, I assume they were separate manuals that year.......

I also recommend an actual book, as opposed to a CD of the manual.

    Here's a link of a quick search I did:

So true! They made quite a business out of selling those books, but the positive is their lack of information seems to bring many interesting folks to this forum who are seeking the specific details those books seem to always be missing compared to the factory manual.

    chrisntam,

Thanks for the link. I looked at the catalogues, but the postage to Australia was CRAZY!!! It was more than the books cost. I'll wait until I'm over there for the SEMA Show in November and buy them and take them home with me in the plane. What do you think are the most important books to have? Does OPG have them? I went there in November with a friend who was ordering parts for his car. Damn!!! Should have asked about the books while I was there.

    Regards from Down Under.

    Re: repair manuals

Rock Auto.com has them and they are fantastic. I bought one for my 1970 as well as an owners manual. They are reprints but they look authentic. The owners manual even showed me why the heat doesn't work when on "vent." You have to have the ac on (mine is unplugged) to adjust temperature. When the system is on vent...that is all you get. An open vent to the outside air.
