    Dual Exhaust 70 Deville?

    Hello,
Need exhaust work done on our 70 Coupe Deville. The Y pipe is shot and that appears to be the bigger ticket item to have replaced. Sooooooo, If I am ever going to put on duals, now is the time. Has anyone done it? Any problems?

    Jeff

People do it all the time. Boosts HP a bit. Never heard of a problem doing it.

Stayed with the single. Just a bit too much out of pocket to go the other route.

^I had to redo the exhaust line and I thought of it but cost would be double -obviously- than doing the original single line so thatīs the route I went too as the list of to-dos was still too long

Did it on a 68 I used to own. I didn't care for it. Too loud too smelly.

Curious as to why it would be more smelly than single exhaust?

O_0 so dual tips with dual exhaust would be 4 times as bad right?

i would go duel, my 69 has the stupid y pipe (are they suppose to be round all the way around?) and single out the back and it does seem restrictive (it will blow gravel out of the way and leave a bare spot in the driveway(just think original gone in 60 seconds). Anybody ever run exhaust tips out of a 70 rear bumper where the reflectors are below the taillights? I think that would be cool, just was thinking it might melt the taillight lenses though.
