Question new to convertible...not to caddys

My 69 deville conv. Motor works.... Well every other day. Is it getting hot? The fluid looks like fresh atf. Should I try to bleed it somehow? Thanks!

    Start with top down!

Get a spare motor reservoir drain plug.

Top off motor with fluid till it just drips back out hole.

get a 2" length of brake line about 7/32. A foot of nylon hose (Enough to have jar below pump), and a glass jar with lid.

Fill the jar halfway with fluid. Poke a hole in the lid. Cut the tip off the spare plug at the goes-into end.

Slide the small 2" brake line into the plug. Jam plug in the motor fill hole. Attach nylon hose to brake line and feed other end into hole in lid and down into fluid.

Lift and drop top repeatedly (a lot). It should suck and spit fluid as needed and blow all the bubbles out.

Allow pump to run 10 seconds more after full up and down to purge well.

Do this with car running. better than running off battery.

As you do it the top will become almost totally silent!

Will work like a dream for years then.

    Thanks,

I grabbed a Chilton but it has jack about tops.... I'm buying a opgi vinyl top to replace the tattered original top. I don't know what quality they are but I'm divin' in. Gotta get the thing bleed and see if it makes a difference.
