Rusty Instrument Panel - '67 Deville

I have a '67 DeVille and the only corrosion on the whole car is on the face of the speedo panel which I plan on replacing soon. Is this a common problem with the '67? I can only think that A/C moisture has been leaking into the instrument cluster to cause this.

Any advise on digging into the dash for this swap?

This is a really common problem on the 67s. I'm not really sure why. Good luck finding a rust-free replacement.

I got lucky and found a good panel. Just haven't found the nerve to tear into it yet. Thanks.

Indeed it was. I had a 67 with the same issue. But for some crazy reason, '68s didn't seem to get that.

You might consider spraying a coat of clear over your new panel before installation to forestall a repeat of the rust.
