You're probably right. Anyway, the picture of the symbol is on 9-48 in the owners manual. Once you look at that, I'm sure you'll see that button just to the right of the CUE screen.
AWD XTS do not have this feature. AWD versions have hydraulic steering, this feature along with lane-keep assist are only on FWD models with electronic steering.
I apologize if there was any confusion with the inclusion of the automatic parking assist feature on your XTS. I see that you have already received a significant amount of feedback from other forum members on this topic and may have received the answer you are looking for. If you would like, please PM me your VIN and I would be happy to provide you with the build sheet for your vehicle.
Ah Ha.. that explains it..Thanks Lencarguy and others... b/t/w - I don't need that feature... I learned how to // park in 1983 and have been very good at it since...:yup:
I think I'd be afraid of using this feature anyway. Who accepts liability if there is a mishap - you or GM??? The other question is why AWD can't have electronic steering, is it because the AWD system was developed before electronic steering became available?
Forgive me but I don't understand how people can buy and pay for a car and not know exactly what options and features it has. Another guy here bought his car thinking it had the navigation option and it didn't, and then he blames Cadillac for his own oversight calling it a "major scam" lol. At what point does one take responsibility for not doing their homework first?
Agree. It's like buying a car at night, and then bitching/moaning/complaining because a couple of body panels don't line up, or there's something wrong with the paint. I remember some years ago over on the CTS forum, some fool was foaming at the mouth over things that were "wrong" with his car, including handling, road-noise, the translucent sunroof shade - stuff like that. It seems he had never even actually sat in the thing, much less driven it, and when I had the temerity to suggest that a test ride might have given him a clue or two, he trashed me up one side and down the other. Go figure.
Not a feature I really would ever use... But the brochure / owners manual refers to it and the button for the other parking sensors was very very similar. I know every single feature on the car. Always do, that one was confusing and with the deal I got I was a bit dizzy when going over the car features. Besides, most salesman don't even know all of the advanced features. Calling anyone a fool wi well ... Rather foolish.
Thanks Stingroo... I try. There a couple small items wrong and rattles in the rear panels near the back window that the dealer will tighten up.. Love the acceleration.
Kinda funny...I have the APA button but no APA. It is an early Vsport with a pre-production build code...I'm assuming that has something to do with it.
