    Fuel range reading = "Low

I just noticed this oddity: when the remaining fuel gets low, the fuel range indicator switches to just saying "Low" rather than the usual mileage estimate. I don't know about anyone else, but when low is exactly the time that I most want a mileage estimate!

No idea, BUT, I never let my fuel go lower than 1/4 of a tank. Any lower and you may start to pick up sludge from the bottom of the tank over time. I know about fuel filters, etc., but better be safe than sorry. My opinion only.

It comes on when you have 50 miles under current driving conditions.

Yep, they all do that. My 2006 STS for example.

I play this little game where I like to see how low I can go without running out, LOL I've had that come on and when I fill it back up it took 18 gal. I think 50 miles is a little to optimistic.

Odd. My low fuel light came on today so I filled up and it took 15.56 gallons.

Are the "low fuel" light on the fuel gauge and the "range left" indicator on the digital display independently arrived at? I think so.
