    door locks?

When I start driving the doors all lock. I don't want that to happen. I've looked thru the settings but can't find one to stop that from happening. How do I turn that off?

Are you saying you want your doors to stay unlocked while you're driving?

Yes, others cars I've had gave me the option in the settings menu. I can't seem to find that option on the XTS.

    Hello JoeGrapes,

I was able to research in the XTS owner’s manual and I was able to find this on page 12 of chapter 2:

“The doors will lock automatically when all doors are closed, the ignition is on, and the shift lever is moved out of P (Park). The doors will automatically unlock when the vehicle is stopped and the shift lever is moved into P (Park). Use the manual or power door locks to unlock the doors if someone needs to exit, and to lock the doors again. The power door locks can be programmed through the Driver Information Center (DIC). See Vehicle Personalization on page 5‑45.”

It does not seem as though there is a setting to not have your doors stay unlocked while you are driving. I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns regarding your vehicle.

    Joe Grapes

Craig f here and have same problem.. Do not want these door locked all the time. All other cars had option to turn that of. Dealership says no way to do it. Seems impossible.

Gregory W. at Cadillac customer car needs to get Caddy to change there system.

Guess means soon as you start car and put in drive hit the unlock button. Crazy

OR leave them locked and if you need to get out, just pull the handle. (it unlocks the door when you pull the handle)

    Re: door locks?

What benefit is there to driving unlocked, compared to the safety of having them lock?
Normal passenger entry/exit only requires selecting park, which ensures the car is stopped! And locked doors may prevent a hijack or assault.
In an accident it probably doesn't matter (they are meant to unlock automatically). This probably outweighs the only negative ( possibly trapped underwater?), and even there, a window hammer would be a better option!

Yes why on earth would you not want your doors locked all the time? Just curious as to what your thought process is with this.
