Would appreciate information on how to unlock driver and passenger doors manually when inside the car?
All of my previous vehicles had a manual door knob or lock that could be manually raised to exit car.
    Thank you!

2013 XTS platinum: Would appreciate help as to how I can manually unlock my car door to exit. Obviously,
there are automatic door locks but all my previous vehicles had a manual unlock handle or a manual unlock
knob that could be raised by hand to unlock. Thank you for your help!!

Just pull the door handle. First pull unlocks, second pull opens. Not obvious, but simple.

Re: XTS platinum: How do I manually unlock door from inside?

Your original post has nothing to do with information to GM/Cadillac Corporation. Please read the descriptive text in each forum banner to find out what is supposed to be posted there. Moved to current XTS information forums.

This original thread was merged with your duplicate thread posted in the correct forum.

What does your owner's manual say about lock/unlock functions and vehicle personalization ?

The XTS does this too?! They copied BMW on this as we have it our X5. We have since gotten used to it, but it was annoying initially.

BTW - this is on page 1-5 of the owner's manual:
'To unlock a door, pull once on the
door handle to unlock it, and
    again to open it.'

It was not unique to BMW, my Porsche unlocks/opens the same way.

How many BMW enthusiasts does it take to change a light bulb?

One, they hold the bulb and the world revolves around them.

Looks like I made MoistCabbage chuckle too... For the snob record.

C'mon, that was funny. Some people are just pickle pusses, I guess.

On my car, the doors unlock when I put it in park. No double pulling, etc.

See owners manual, 5-48, Auto Door Unlock.

Yes, this is a programmable option. The OP was asking how it could be done manually, like if the battery died and the electronics didnt function as programmed.
