Cadillac XTS Forum Discussion, Flash Drive favorites disappear in Current Cadillac Vehicle Discussion; All favorites that came from the flash drive at first go dim and then disappear. Radio stations selected do not ...
Have only one favorites related to my flash drive, and so far have not noted the reported issue. But a few weeks after the major CUE update I took my car in for other reasons and the CUE expert also installed another Radio/Voice Control CUE update (after which all my favorites were lost - since I didn't have many it didn't take me long to set them up again). Checking after that update those 3 service numbers, there was no change. Software # is still 23150273. However, the download to USB stick worked (this time only - didn't work again. LOL) That showed the Software number under "modid 19" - listed twice - but a third time it also showed under "modid 19" swpartnum>10000001 plus the following modid numbers which I. not being a CUE technician, can't relate to any specific car module, except for Gracenote (id 15) and Map (id 12) , i.e. "modid 0" as swpartnum>23150274, "modid 12" as swpartnum>22993553, "modid 18" as swpartnum>23152589, again "modid 12" as wpartnum>22993583, "modid 15" as swpartnum>22993544, and again "modid 0" as swpartnum>22993612. I suppose one or more of the modid's reflect these new updates made. Interesting that the second modid 12 showing a change from ,,,,,53 to .....83 is not reflected when checking the map service number info on the screen. Anyway, ever since it takes an additional 5 to 10 seconds than before - after starting the car - for music to play from my USB stick, but now also a further 5 to 10 seconds before any info shows up on the screen. However, that may also be due to having added some 800 songs and having now just slightly under 4000 of them. Don't remember the timing of update to CUE and adding of songs. Should I also experience posted by two of the posters I will report it.
I only have two favorites saved from the usb stick and they both faded out. I thought it may be because I hadn't used them for a long time but yesterday one of them magically appeared again. The other one is still blank. It won't let me save any from the CD.
Just received my new powerful SD card to replace the lost one. As expected the saved favorite from the USB stick is now faded (NOT lost) and CUE states the info is missing. While I immediately could select that same info (all songs from a specific artist) from the SD drive pending full indexing it will not let me save it to this favorite button (as expected). Putting in also the USB drive, even though I regenerated it - which also included a slight change - (for speed comparison which I will post elsewhere under to-day's date http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...usuable-2.html), the favorite button immediately showed up as available. So fading may be due to associated changes to your device. Totally blanking out, on the other hand, would appear to be a CUE problem. Have yet to try using the CD drive. Perhaps CUE does not incorporate the function to save to a favorites as CD's are normally often changed and thus just like my expected behaviour when switching to a new SD card from USB, CUE would not find the info pending re-indexing unless the same CD is in the drive. In fact CUE may not even facilitate indexing of a CD in the first place. Since CUE prior to finishing indexing even lets you search and choose artists/songs/albums from a freshly generated device but not playlists, saving to a favorite or voice control, I see little need for having an index of just a CD stored on CUE. Not a fact but just a theoretical assumption. Of course the CD could contain a larger number of MP3's and even a playlist, rather then a normal purchased CD, so I may be totally wrong.
