Thank you very much for the answer!!

And my apologies to you all (and to my customer who is most likely reading this thread as well) on behalf of Cadillac for this ridiculous turn if events.

Anybody got any guesses as to why in the world Cadillac would have made the decision to do this (put the option into the car and then disable it)? Is there maybe something flawed with the software or something?

So has anyone actually used the service mentioned here to program the module to activate intellibeam on the 2013 XTS. I am definitely interested but I have only seen one person claiming to have used this service. I would of thought there would be many XTS owners jumping at the opportunity to get this feature to work.

We've done quite a few of them although primarily for dealerships.

Are you saying that Cadillac dealerships hired you to program intellibeam on their 2013 XTS's? I called Cadillac customer care and they stated their is no fix for the intellibeam feature on the 2013 XTS

We have done them for dealerships where people bought 13's saw it in the manual and were pissed it didn't have it, in the name of customer satisfaction

Were these for all 2013's, or just the ones without Driver Assist option? Apparently, the Driver Assist option is different.

Are you able to do these on the ATS? The P/N of the device behind my mirror is 22959663 and I have drivers assist.

Sorry, but this just sounds a bit fishy. I hope I am wrong, because as a current owner of a 2013 XTS4 Premium, without the feature I so loved on my previous STS, I would love to pay to have this done to my car.

Unfortunately, I watched the video of the instrument panel on what appears to be an XTS. What I wanted to see was out the windshield of this car as it actually operated in traffic. It is very easy to doctor a video of a speedometer; however not impossible, but much more difficult to do the same with active images through a windshield especially one with actions going on in traffic including shadows, reflections in the windshield, etc.

I hope my skepticism is absolutely unwarranted, and this is indeed a real thing.

Probably because you know... I didn't want to crash the car? I had to rest the phone some where and yes it's the real thing. I'd say look at our other videos this one is pretty basic as far as our products go.

Okay, and please forgive me if I am skeptical, but when I visited your website it appeared nobody was home. Please reply to this message and provide me a quote to have this done to my 2013 XTS. If you wish, you can private message me. Thanks in advance for your help...

As stated on the site we are closed until the 11th, at which time all cart functionality will be returned including pricing etc. I was referring to looking at our other videos on youtube.

I'd love to have this done on my 2013 ATS with premium package and no driver assist. I will be seeing if my dealership can do this under warranty since the feature is stated in the manual. Who would they talk to and/or how would I get it done? Price?

    Thanks.

Re: Short Video of my Intellibeam / Auto High Beam Programming in Action

Regardless of what is stated in the Owner's Manual, your Build Sheet (and RPO sticker) determine the options included in your vehicle at the time of assembly.

Warranty work has nothing to do with wish work, --that is, GM is not obligated in any way to retroactively improve the functionality of an automobile you accepted as-is when you signed for it.

--Note the Assembly Section in the back of Cadillac sales brochures contain the phrase:

"Since some options may be unavailable when your vehicle is assembled, we suggest that you verify that your vehicle includes the equipment you ordered or, if there are changes, that they are acceptable to you."

In other words, caveat emptor. Based on the date of the posts in this thread, it sounds like the vendor had a few dealerships perform goodwill repairs to new (2013) XTS's close to the time of sale.

If Cadillac set a precedent and paid for a modification to your (three year-old) car, they could be in the hook to provide options that were subsequently added to the rest of many of our vehicles assembled early in their production runs. (My XTS missed out on the Driver Assistance Package --standard on the Platinum trim by three months.)

If you want the Intellibeam feature, chances are you'll have to pay GM or an aftermarket vendor to get it --as I will eventually do, --if it's even available for your ATS.

The vendor's website only lists the 2013 XTS without the Driver Assistance Package as being eligible for this upgrade at this time.

Visit their website. The current price to reprogram the module is $124.99 for the XTS. I am considering it, but have not pulled the plug as yet, mostly because it requires removal of the module and shipping to their facility. As far as the ATS, I'm not sure if the same rules apply.
