The President's Vehicle Parade FWIW Department

For those who watched this morning and those who did not, what were the limos and the sedans used? Cadillac XTS's. Not Lincoln, not Chrysler, not MB or BMW or Lexus or Toyota.

I don't know exactly what vehicle they model the body after but that's a Chevy Suburban frame underneath (and highly fortified at that).

Based on Chevy Kodiak (truck), and predates the XTS (2009). Resembles a DTS, maybe.

It is great for Cadillac to have built " the beast". While most is top secret I read that the car can withstand a direct missile strike. Pretty cool and politics aside as a Caddy fan I loved the wonderful American images on the airwaves today showing that beautiful muscular Cadillac protecting the Commander in Chef and his family.

The Chef was in the car too? Wonder what he's cookin up? LOL!! By the way, the car has the back end of an STS and the front end of a DTS. The rest doesn't exist on another car. It is the Beast for sure.

Politics aside: Cadillac badges and to me it looks like my XTS. Of course my doors are not like the vault doors on the President's. And it is a rolling tank.

The grille looks escalade to me as well. Maybe just because its fitting between Esky headlamps.

Just did some digging on this and very pleased to learn that GM does in fact build The Beast. George Bushs limo was also built by GM. Obama got the brand new limo in 2009 which is the one we saw today

    Cool stuff .
