    Storing phone numbers in CUE

Does anyone else have this problem? I created phone numbers from my phone contacts on my Iphone 4S and saved them as a favorite. When I try to use them, they are greyed out and will not dial the number. Is there another step I should be doing?

Try manually imput your most frequently used numbers into cue directory and see if that works.

Thanks Handymantoo, I can't seem to figure out how to manually add a number directly into the CUE and be able to save it as a favorite. Can you please tell me how to do this.

Re: Storing phone numbers in CUE

If your iPhone 4s is paired to the bluetooth system, there should be no need to manually store the numbers in CUE. All you need to do is press the voice button the steering wheel, then speak the command "Call ______" (with your contact's name after the word call). The CUE system can access your phone's contact list and dial contacts by voice as long as you've set your phone's permissions to allow contact sharing.

If you still would like to store numbers directly into the CUE system's contact list, it's a little difficult to type out, so I went in the showroom and recorded a short video showing how to do it. It's uploading to YouTube now, and I'll post the link when it's done.

Re: Storing phone numbers in CUE

I just followed Tony's excellent instructions on how to add a phone contact to CUE. I have two questions. What phone service is CUE using to make the call and why is the sound so distorted?? It's distorted on both ends of the call. Bluetooth and Onstar are clear as bell.

Re: Storing phone numbers in CUE

CUE can't make calls on its own, it needs either OnStar calling minutes or an active Bluetooth phone. When you made the call, there would have been either a picture of a phone or an OnStar logo on the screen showing you which it was using to make the call.

Really the only reason to store numbers in the CUE system is call them using OnStar if your BT device is out of juice or you're in an area with poor cell reception. If your call was garbled, it was probably just spotty cell reception.

Re: Storing phone numbers in CUE

Thanks Tony. I just went side without my cell phone and realized that. I feel like a tech dummy sometimes. I was in the garage when I tried the CUE call. I will pull the car out and try again with my cell phone on and see if that clears up the reception.

Bingo. The car needed to be outside. Call was clear. Thanks again.
