Here is a pretty good link to a 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile speed to time website.

'nuff said. 6.8sec turns you into a right-lane driver around here...

    Re: Acceleration times

Funny I was just out today in a 45 mph zone that was at a stop because of construction. After being frustrated from the delay I nailed the sucker and was doing 70mph before I knew it!! ( I was safely clear of any construction when I took off). I justed laughed to myself about all the people complaining about the lack of a V8. I had an 07 V6 STS before this XTS and there is no comparison. The engine in the XTS is so much smoother and refined. It even sounds good.

No doubt true. What, there were about 3 of those V6 STS's sold? Nuff said

    Re: Acceleration times

    I wish all 5 of the Z28s and IROCs I owned in the '80s would've 0-60'd in 6.8 secs.

If you want the quickest and best handling xTS go with the base. It will be the lightest and have the 19" wheels instead of the 20s and it won't have a sunroof which adds weight and is up high so it will affect handling negatively.
