I drove one last week. Reminded me of driving a chevy product. Nice bells and whistles, but when I buy....it will be the newer CTS hands down

Oh come on ! The interior alone has been getting rave reviews of being nicer then Mercedes, Lexus and Audi ! There is nothing Chevy like about the XTS

I will tell you though that new impala is a nice looking car. From looking at pictures I say that the impala is better looking than the XTS. I love the side profile of the impala...

DG2, Have you driven one? If so, what is your review from the test drive? The new CTS is light years ahead of XTS.

Yes I test drove the XTS twice. Very nice , smooth riding plenty of pick up and handled great. That said, what new CTS ? The 2014 one that is not on the market yet ??

The CTS is nice, but the seats suck! I have owned M3's, X5's, Corvette, Mustang, etc. and the buckets are super. the CTS buckets are like sitting on a board. No wraparounfeel just like sitting in an Adirondack chair. The XTS buckets on the other hand are amazingly comfortable. Just MHO.

I agree the XTS has extremely comfortable seats and overall ergonomics are outstanding

    Re: Xts drive

I don't think the Impala is breaking new ground like hyundai did with the Sonata. Their different pricing point for the targeted audience, that said the XTS buyer will not be looking at a Sonata to purchase. Same as the BMW 5 Lexus ES buyer want appreciated a Chevy Impala it's just the prestige factor of human nature.
Look at these car and tell me what car is different, other than pricing and name and which car really stands out to you .

Suspension, Shocks, interior and many other things are nothing like the Buick this is not 1985 people. Audi and other do this also, sharing platforms, so lets be real. The XTS is nothing like a Chevy that is just a joke.....or Buick for that matter.

Yes, I know. I was talking about the standard CTS models. I couldn't justify another manual "racing car" as I have a Corvette and I needed a car that the wife will drive (she can't drive stick; won't drive my F-150; and refuses to drive the X5 because it has an electronic shift - but she like the shift feel in the XTS- the X5 is going to be traded and I won't need to be the woman's personal driver).
