    What about the CD player?

I just got rid of my 8 track last week.

Our Firebird has cassette only the Honda has cassette and disk.

Seriously, it appears that the CTS and XTS have a single disk player, please confirm.

Yes. The rationale I guess is that if you have the hard disk drive, you only need one slot. The idea being that you record your CDs to the HDD, so there's no need for. A multi disk changer.

That's what SD card slots and USB ports are for.

CD players are taking the same path as bench seats.

Yep... we've come a long way since the 45 rpm record player in the '57 Dodge Adventurer.

I had one of those under the dash record players in my 1960 Impala too. Boy have times changed. At least the SD cards don't warp in the hot sun!!

Can you guys tell me, does the XTS have surround sound like the STS? That would have to be from disc I assume. And what formats are supported? DVD-A, DVD-video, Blueray, etc.?

    I love mobile surround sound.

I don't think Bluray is. But the XTS is available with surround sound...

I have a brochure for the XTS and do not see mention of a HDD. Does it come with the 8-speaker or 14-speaker or both? I like the feature on my current vehicle.

To my knowledge no DVD is supported, only CD. USB zip drives or SD card for storage.

I believe Premium and Platinum have 14, Basic and Luxury have 8.

Thank you, handymantoo. I worded my question poorly. I meant to ask, which XTS Bose system includes a HDD, the 8-speaker or the 14-speaker system or both?

Just got my answer from Cadillac Chat --> No hard disc drive (HDD) on any XTS model whatsoever.

Can anyone confirm surround sound? If it has it, it must support DVD. The only CDs that have SS are DTS CDs and those are great, but no one makes them anymore.
