This past week, AutoWeek magazine did an article on the XTS.

    Per the engine:
The limitations of the 3.6L become more evident in hilly environments, where the need to rev all the way to 6800 rpm to acheive maximum horsepower makes passing a carefully considered affair.
It's not that 304 horsepower is inadequate. It's just that two tons of car is a lot for an engine this size to push around.
Overall the article stated the usual, "for that market" the XTS should fit the need. As if those wanting a roomy, luxurious and comfortable sedan were out of the mainstream of auto buyers, lol.

Autoweek also thought the DTS was underpowered with the 275HP N*Star engine.

If it doesnt have effortless cruising, isnt that a problem for this kid of car? Maybe the Turbo V6 would help in that regard? I just think the car would be a little more luxurious with a V8 exhaust note. As Im not a potential customer, I doubt my opinion matters much.

Interestingly I found the 2012 SRX with the 3.6L DI to feel faster then my SRX with the 2.8T. Is the gearing the same? The 3.6L DI feels better then it looks on paper.
