If your seating area is supportive and comfortable, you don't need extra space.

My Town Car needs the open cockpit since the driver's seat is flat and there is no dead pedal.

My V is closed in with places for your feet and uber-supportive Recaros. I can do 2000 miles non-stop in it...

I still like to move my legs around, especially on a long trip. It has nothing to do w/the seat.

I'm with hue. This is the very reason I bought my Deville. I wanted legroom. The DTS has that. The XTS does not.

Great. The DTS is gone. Bench seats don't exist. Buy an Escalade and get over it...

Re: XTS test drive: My thoughts

Escalades don't have bench seats. I don't really like bench seats either. I'm OK w/them on my wagons, since I have other vehicles w/consoles. But I just prefer that the console not impede into the footwell area.

What are you, like 2 feet tall? The XTS does not have the same kind of legroom as the DTS. This is after sitting in the XTS for an extensive time at my dealership. Besides, the XTS is noticeably more narrow than the DTS. So I don't expect it to have that much legroom.

Luckily I don't have to get over anything. I still have my DTS with my comfortable bench seating. Besides, Escalades don't have bench seating.

No bench on the Escalades? Why no bitching about that? I mean, that's what you all do here, right?

Re: XTS test drive: My thoughts

I am 6'5" and I agree there is not enough leg room. The console comes up too high so your leg/knee can't hang over the console. This forces you to sit like a Lady knees together. You simply can't spread out and get comfortable. Yes there is plenty of leg room under the dash I can move the seat so far back I almost can't touch the pedals, but that is not what we are talking about. I have an 08 CTS and it is the most comfortable sedan I have owned. But I have knee space and that is all the difference for us Shaq like individualds. Any way I was not impressed with the XTS and would not pay 55k for it. I am waiting for the ATS and before all of you say "well it is smaller than the CTS, you Shaq like people would never fit in it." check the specs. They are the same as the CTS so if the console does'nt come up yo my arm pit it will probably be fine. In my opinion XTS=failure. Boo Cadillac we waited for ever for this crap. It will not sell the old people who were waiting for it to replace their DTS' will look at the electronics and say "Where are the dang fool buttons"
