The only way a Lucerne would look better than the DTS would be if you were fond of the look of 10 year old Nissans (the front end) and Hondas (the back end).

What do you plan to drive after your Town Car? Say what you want about the DTS, but at least your typical alpha male businessman client's shoulders won't be brushing up against his subordinate's -- and he can keep his briefcase in the back seat -- unlike the XTS.
The Lacrosse is only smaller because it doesn't have the "big-butt" overhang. However the new Impala does (go look at it) and the new Impala is "basically" the replacement for the Lucerne (yes you read that right, they are trying to move those buyers to Chevy). I'd bet that the LaCrosse MCE (and it's due for one) will increase the rear overhang to give it comparable trunk space to the Impala and XTS. It will devalue the XTS.

I don't know. But, if I have to, I think the XTS can do what I need. With compromises, of course...

The new Lexus ES looks promising. It's based off of the Avalon, where its always been based off of the Camry before. And the Avalon has the best back seat of any sedan south of $50G...

Well, guess you don't get jokes. Typical DTS buyer, I guess. Do you wear suspenders, too?

Avalon has always been based on a stretched Camry platform.

Yes, but the new ES is based on the "stretched Camry" platform, not the Camry platform it was always previously based off of...
