You buy Cadillac for the luxury and smooth ride not the choppy sports car. And before anyone says anything I've owned Cadillacs my entire life since I was 16. 6 in all. GM is killing the brand and surrendering to European sports cars. Cadillac died as a signature brand with the last DTS rolled out in 2011. Now they are just like everyone else
If Cadillac built cars you like, they would've been dead 10 years ago. And definitely would be with bankruptcy.

I guess being like everybody else is a good thing.

Right. That's why they just stopped making the DTS last year. The last year I liked them as I said.

Your logic needs some serious work.

The XTS is growing on me, but it would have to have the TT6 before I'd consider one. I'm not going to get rid of my 300HP N* to get a 300HP V6. However, I would like to see one with the caramel/black color interior -- that does look sharp.
The engine is a serious concern I agree. Its just sad to see Cadillac loose its individuality. Just seems like all they are interested in now is copying others.

Maybe the Cadillac slogan should be " If you can't beat them....join them."

Saw the first one today at my dealer. Absolutely beautiful! I have a 06 dts that I bought new and have loved every minute with it, but the xts blows it away. I will be buying one next January!

Because the DTS has been so vital to Cadillac's success this past decade...

Sadly. I drove the new XTS. Very disappointed. No V8, smaller wheelbase, & too sporty ride. I'll keep my DHS. Bad motor & all.

If my math is right while adding in my head while on an elliptical machine:

DTS sold appx. 200000 units over its run.

All 3 Escalades sold appx. 237K during those years.

I'd say it was significant. And completely unrelated to how many CTS were sold -- considering how small they are.

And on the point of room in the XTS, there is an extended wheelbase package available already.

Well, a step backwards as Caddy was doing amazing keeping up with the Bimmer club
The XTS is stunning on the inside , nicer then any Caddy past or present and nicer then the German brands. It's just not a luxury sports sedan like CTS. If your looking for a nice roomy gorgeous car to do "real world" driving the XTS is a perfect car. Just wished the did not make FWD. oy

I think the extended chassis versions are only available to the coach builder program. But on that subject I can't wait to see what those versions end up like.

And as for the luxury sports sedan - it was never meant to be one. Just a luxury sedan, at which it does a great job.

And if they went bankrupt with garbage instead of quality cars rolling out, they'd be where they are now?

GM went bankrupt because of decisions and cars of 15 years ago and you know it.
