    Production start

Does anyone have a more definite date as to production start up for the XTS than "in the second quarter"? Has a date been actually set or is it a moving target? What would be a guess as to quality control on the first few batches built?

I am visiting my dealer the end of this week. They will have an XTS on hand. Hope to have some more answers after that regarding production and possibly price. As the quality control on the first few I wouldn't be overly concerned. I currently own a 2005 STS, that I ordered new and it was the third one manufactured and first one released to the public (the dash is signed by Kip Wasanko). I have had virtually no problems with the car. I go with the theory they try to be overly careful with the initial production. Obviously there can still be glitches in new technology. In fact they held mine for about 10 days after it was finished to continue running tests on it before releasing it to me.

    Thumbs up Re: Production start

Just got back from the dealer. They had a white diamond tricoat XTS Platinum with light platinum interior, 20 " wheels. It is still a prototype and can not be driven except by the individual traveling with the car (even he was told not to press buttons since many were not functional). But at least you could sit in it and open the cavernous trunk, engine bay, etc. The fit and finish were excellent. I really liked the body proportions from the side and back. Not too crazy about the grill which struck me as better fit for a truck... The interior was very well laid out and very comfortable. Back seat room great even with the front seats back.

The dealer believes they will be able to start taking orders next month. I am on the list

Went to the auto show today and they had the XTS. They were claiming it would be in show rooms at the end of May or early June.

Our dealer webcast last week said we should be able to order them soon (as in this week or next). Still no concrete pricing info to share, sorry.

Thinking about it more and more, I'm waiting for the 2014 XTS...that will let them work out the bugs.

By then, the new CTS should be out--and if you wait a year to work out the bugs on that one, the big Omega would soon be available. It's almost as bad as waiting for computers to improve & go down in price.

This is true...if the CTS gets cue, I'm all in! I just don't want to have my car at the dealer as often as my CTS has been so far. Interesting you compared it to computers...I never wait!
