It may eventually make it to the rest of Cadillac's vehicles but presently it's only available on the XTS.

Really? I didn't know that. That's a very nice touch - especially on an entry-level vehicle...

The interior lighting looks pretty similar to the CTS. I like the exterior lighting (especially the handles.) I am still a little worried about the headlights, but they look excellent illuminated. I will have to see it in person to know if that sweeping up onto the hood look really works for me.

I'd expect the LED headlights to be more reliable than HID's. Hopefully on a downward price trajectory too. I have not seen much price reduction on the HID's.

I had the impression the LED lights are for accent, and maybe driving lights. But the headlights themselves look very much like today's HID's.

Re: Cadillac XTS Lighting and Ambiance

I think your probably correct. I searched some for LED headlights and the only one I came up with was the audi R8. It was
like a 7K option to have LED headlights. I doubt the XTS could afford to put that much coin into headlights. They will come
though and be more reliable the arc-ing a spark. Cree has some smart folks...

Re: Cadillac XTS Lighting and Ambiance

I see driving lights, but no cornering lights. Or are they going to cheap out and have the corresponding driving light come on as a cornering light when turning at night?

Sorry,. but I like the big cornering lamps on my DTS. They light up the dark turns in my neighborhood plus cast a huge "get out of my way" blast of light when making a lane change on the highway at night.

Oh yeah, the nice big red arrow signal mirrors seem to be gone too. Seems stupid to me that the new style signal mirrors have 99% of the light on the front on the mirror!

I agree on the cornering lights. I like them.

I disagree on the mirror indicators. I don't like them.
