I'm sure base models were in the mid $40s, but yes, mine is a Platinum.

Even my DeVille DTS handled pretty good for it's size...

DTS started in the high 40s, topped out in the high 50s. I would expect the XTS to be a few thousand less- probably $43k base and $55k loaded.
Rest in Peace, J.D. (aka Dirt_Cheap_Fleetwood)

well starting with folks from that generation, but the DTS is targeted at 'younger' folks too ... like those who were born in the 40's and 50's and worked for the likes of apple computer - microsoft - xerox - ibm - Burroughs/Unisys - texas instruments etc (the list goes on)

I'm from the generation of iPads and Androids, and I think the DTS is one of the sexiest cars out there. Old Cadillac FTW!

    I am a technology guy.
I will keep my current car for a while and see what happens with the Cadillac line-up. A 2009 DTS Premium Luxury with Platinum Edition Upgrade w/ ACC, Tehama leather and Vogues.
XTS is nice but not enough to shift me away from my DTS... yet

Re: Introducing the 2013 Cadillac XTS

I thought the XTS was supposed to be able to compete with bmw 7 series. Oh well.

Reading this thread has me concerned; No V8? FWD?? plastic wood??? whoa. I guess we'll see.

As for me, I have one of the very last if not the last 1996 Fleetwoods made, and finally got my rear drive NorthStar V8 STS, It's a 2009 platinum edition which I'm sure puts a platinum DTS to shame. I know the rear drive NorthStar is 25HP stronger for starters, and it has the limited slip diff.

Re: Introducing the 2013 Cadillac XTS

i very highly doubt that there will be fake plastic wood inside the XTS ... i really like the look of the grain that they're using also - looks very unique to me

i think i heard that this was going to be real wood - like in the Ciel

Re: Introducing the 2013 Cadillac XTS

Please don't shoot the messenger (me), but from the respected Car and Driver magazine:

"The XTS isn't a flagship for Cadillac. Instead, insiders describe it as a vehicle for an aging baby boomer population that has a different set of requirements than the Audi/BMW/Mercedes crowd. Cadillac would like to do a range topping car to take on the Mercedes S class, but the company doesn't have the money to do it yet."
Car and Driver Magazine, April 2010
