It's a good-looking car. A very nice replacement for the DTS. Especially on the inside.. As long as they're improving with each redesign, than things are looking up. And since they've already declared that this isn't supposed to be the luxury flagship that competes with the best on the market, we don't need to hold them to that. It just needs to be a better DTS - and the rest will come...

Wow, i dont like this thing at all.

I also noticed the Toyota Avalon resemblance immediately, thats an extreme turn off for me. I definitely see this filling in for the DTS but not the STS. Granted the 08+ CTS could fill the void left from the STS but I have been talking mess to CTS owners since I got my STS. I assume they will do a redesign of the CTS and make it a little more STSish at the same time they release the XTS.

    Man, that thing is ugly.

    Re: Cadillac XTS

I hope the integrated exhaust tips will make it to production. They did it with the CTC, so it might as well be very possible.

I am not sure Cadillac intends to replace the STS with this. It will merely be the new DTS.
We will have to wait for the next project. Since STS derives from the SeVille, which was initially actually the luxury class of Cadillac beside Eldorado. I hope to see the true flagship as FTS (reviving Fleetwood and SeVille) and new ETC as a 2 door version of the new flagship platform.

Then we'll see A, B, C, D, E and F models and the SRX and Escalade (might as well become "G" model, or "H" when SRX becomes "G")

I'm pretty sure it's RWD or AWD like the STS and CTS.

I don't really see the Avalon in it, but what I do see is an exterior that looks like some run-of-the-mill car or maybe upscale car like the Avalon, not a luxury car.

However, the interior looks great, although a tad futuristic

What would make the exterior look higher end? As far as technology is concerned, the exterior is just a highly advanced as any other luxury sedan.

Oh, damn, that wrecks it for me. Might be able to stomach RWD, but I hate how FWD handles.

I'm not talking about technology -- I know this car will be full of that, I'm not stupid. What I mean is the overall design of the car looks more in line with what I would expect from an upscale car like an Avalon or a Buick, or possibly a Lexus, which don't look like what I would expect from a luxury car either. Much in the same way the Cimmaron was too similar looking to the Cavalier of the same era, only the options and interior of the XLS make it worth at least looking at.

I'm OK w/FWD or AWD -- but no V8 option = FAIL... Shame -- it looks pretty good....

I don't 'NOT' agree with you. I was just curious. Often today, people align luxury with technology, both inside and out. The XTS looks like an upscale sedan because its based on an upscale sedan, the big ol' Buick.
