I know you guys are just 'bench racing' but all heard so far is speculation and conjecture (I know, that's what we do best). Maybe, and this is just speculation as well, GM (Cadillac in this case) has learned a thing or two and is going to put out a new car every-much as good as the new CTS is; this strategy has worked with the aforementioned CTS, the Corvette and the Malibu. (Shoot for the stars, not what's already out there.) That's the way to get market share.
Let's hope you're right. I haven't lost all hope - I'm just a bit skeptical...
New cadillac designs are actually pretty intriguing as well as Lincoln. As far as the engineers.. at least at GM I really don't think the engineers are the problem. It's the limits they are required to work with.

With no V8 it won't be able to shoot for the stars. I drove a Camaro six last year for a week and it was a wonderful car, even fast once the revs were up, but off the line it was a six, no question about it. If this is what we will get, why not drive a Buick Lacrosse and save 15K? I really like the low end torque of my Northstar not to mention the growl and the smoothness. The room and comfort of my Deville is wonderful. I'm going to remember to political party that is trying to take my V8 away this November. If I lived in Mass., I would have remembered them last week.
