a friend of mine got a trade in on an infrared 2006 XLR-V...Well with my need for speed[ at 65yrs.of age lol] I purchased it. I have a 2004 base XLR, and it runs great and looks showroom...Silver and ebony,,,,, I read an article in EDMUNDS that the 2006 XLR-V has ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL as a STANDARD feature...Mine either doesn't have it or it is broken...Why would GM do away with this great feature, that I had on my base 2004 XLR. PLUS I don't think I have RAIN SENSING WIPERS either.Could u tell me if these 2 things are standard... very confused and disappointed....The XLR-V is like 20grand more with less options??????? thanks anyone can reach me at [ firstname.lastname@example.org ] GREG O./ RADARB8:worship

Congratulations on the upgrade. I'm envious! I believe the Vs didn't have adaptive cruise control because of the mesh grill design (no spot for the plastic window in the lower grille). I'm sure it made the car slightly more profitable, too, since eliminating that option partly helped to offset the cost of some of the upgraded items GizmoQ listed.
Yes, grats on the upgrade. Not ever having the adaptive cruise feature, I can't tell what I am missing. Personally, the rain sensing feature is a pain, since they tend to come on when there is moisture...just not enough moisture, causing smears, etc.
'06 was a good year...6 speed trans in the V, hid the XM receiver + the stuff that Gizmo pointed out...there are plenty of threads on mods (seeing your email name in your thread)
