Low oil message
Hi I just changed my oil in my 04 XLR. Put the 8quarts in with filter an when I started my car I got a Low oil message I did have 40 psi oil but when I checked dip stick just had small amount of oil on stick.restarted car an got the low oil message again any help would be great.

Maybe I am being too obvious...but did you reset your oil life message after the change. Access it thru the DIC and push and hold for a few seconds.

The low oil level message has nothing to do with oil pressure or oil life.
Normally, I'd say faulty level sensor, but its low in the dipstick. You're sure you're reading the dipstick correctly?
