    362-pound limit

Anybody know that there was a 362-pound limit on the safety rating on our XLRs?
At 265 pounds, Ron Larson of Henderson, Nev., says he and his 150-pound wife were unaware of the limitations two years ago when they leased a Cadillac XLR two-seater with a 362-pound capacity. "If the dealership knew there was a weight restriction, they should have told us," he says. And the information should be on the window sticker, not the door frame, he says.

He's got the problem whipped now. After putting out his wife's weight on the internet he'll be sleeping on the couch and eating cold sandwiches.

Ok, thats funny. Lets see... I am 220, so I better not get an XLR unless my wife can commit on a long term basis to under 142. I can just imagion how that conversation would go....

While I don't own an XLR, I find it hard to believe that the weight limit for passengers AND cargo is 362lbs! 180lb man, 140lb woman (and in this country that's on the slim side) leaves only 42lbs of luggage and other stuff... seems that 462lbs is a more reasonable limit.

    Re: 362-pound limit

I would guess that a couple hundred extra pounds would still be within reason, but the safety devices and the specified handling and braking limits of the car are engineered to meet a maximum of 362.

Wait a minute! Nobody has accounted for the fuel and lubricating oil.

We need to lock this thread before GM starts putting scales in service lines. Customer and passengers need to be weighed prior to any warranty work. Overweight loads = block on warranty.

    Re: 362-pound limit

Well, if my wife is 300 pounds and I'm 62 pounds, I guess we're good. Perfect.
LOL! Don't even make me piss my pants by thinking of having a hot wife like that. Dadadadadaaa... I'm lovin' it.
