Question Trunk space

I'm close to buying a XLR. I haven't had the chance to check trunk size with the top down. A full set of golf clubs? Will anything else fit?

Re: Trunk space

you will get one set in there, but not much else.

i can get three gym bags in with the top down, which is good enough for me.

i think we can get two carry ons in and expect to do some top down cruising on a weekend getaway.

this car brings so much to the table, i hope low trunk space does not turn you away. you will love it.

Talking Re: Trunk space

Thanx...that's about the same room I have in my C5 Vert with the top down. Sounds like a winner to me.

Re: Trunk space

is cadillac planning to change that?? that really hurt them in the car and driver tests. they said they have the smallest trunck of all tested and they have a similar top to the benz.

Re: Trunk space

I have had mine almost 3 months now. The small trunk is not a problem when you take into consideration what an amazing vehicle the XLR is. I would probably buy one if it didn't even have a trunk. Hope you get one and enjoy it!

Re: Trunk space

They had better be real small clubs. There really is no trunk with the top down.

Re: Trunk space

I'm a bit surprised at the golf club comment to. Some queer in a showroom said "all you need is the room to fit your Louis Vutton (spell?) bag anyway." I know he was a wacko ...

Re: Trunk space

Hey there Chicago Kid,

Everone has left out the possiblilies of using the area underneath the top when it's down. Pull your barrier and look inside. You can get a lot of soft stuff in there in plastic type bags. There's about 6 to 7 inches of room. Be careful what items you put in there because the rear window is right above it...................and there is no problem getting a full set of clubs in the safe area.
I actually got a free Cadillac bag worth about $250 in mine when I bought it. I thought it was part of the car and didn't mention it to the owner of the dealership, but when I mentioned it one day, he said, someone left it in there by mistake. They where trying to show that there was room for a set of clubs. I offered to give it back and being the kind of dealer I have, he said no way.
