A shoulder to cry on... Mercedes having serious troubles of it's own...

Mercedes is having almost as tough a time as GM right now...

    http://money.cnn.com/2005/04/01/news...reut/index.htm

"...Daimler has limped from one bailout plan to the next in recent years, first trying to restructure U.S.-arm Chrysler, then fix alliance partner Mitsubishi, only to find that its steady workhorse Mercedes finally began to crumble from neglect..."

..."It is surprising that the product launch of the CLS went ahead in (late) 2004 when it was being manufactured using components that had already been failing on the E-Class"...

    Happy Ralphie?? :madtalkin

I'm not happy that ANY car manufacturer is having trouble, how dare you imply!!!

Actually I saw one of those "Smart Cars" last week on the street and I was shocked at how short and small they are. It couldn't have been longer than the hood of the Grand Marquis I had! But you know, for around town, it's all you need.

I think that MB is embarrassed they ever merged with Chrysler because it might have watered down their luxury image. Then again, there is always the Maybach.

I'm really starting to accept the idea that Cadillac NEEDS a 100,000 dollar prestige vehicle to compete with the ultra luxury brands.

Well, at least the General isn't the only one having a tough time of things right now, but then again, looking at those fancy-schmancy electronics they put in those things! No wonder they're having problems!

BTW, I'm really not sure who's sig to spend more time looking at......

    Mercedes-Benz Recalls 1.3 Million Cars

"The largest single recall in its history will be launched soon by Mercedes-Benz, just as the company is trying to right quality problems that have dragged down its performance. DaimlerChrysler says it will recall about 1.3 million vehicles because of problems with voltage regulators, battery-control software, and braking systems. The recall includes Benz vehicles outfitted with gas V-6 and V-8 engines, manufactured between June 2001 and November 2004, according to wire reports, as well as some E-Class and CLS-Class cars built between January 2002 and January of this year, and E-Class, CLS-Class, and SL-Class cars built from June 2001 through January 2005. Several hundred thousand vehicles sold in the U.S. are included in the recall; a spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal that no accidents, nor any injuries, had resulted from the problems."

Been in Smart Car it was roomy for the size. For a Large city it is great , but pricey at $20Gs CDN

I guess that's why they are considered "exclusive" here as I've only seen one silver on on the road in town.
