Let me see, Lexus vs. Cadillac?
Are you nuts? IMO, the Lexus wins hands down, especially a 400. Wouldn't make the trade for a 300 but the 400 is the sh@t!

I'd probably do it. That GS400 is a very nice car. It's very fast too

The Lexus GS is the finest luxury sports sedan built from Japan. 0-60 in under 6 seconds, luxurious, incredible looks and the most reliable in class. Check out www.clublexus.com for more or ask me here. :coolgleam

GS400 is simply the more practical car. Although Edmunds did say the 98 STS felt much more vault like structure wise when compared to the GS. I can back taht up too

Well now if I could just find one in town, they must kind of a rare car because I did a search on autotrader and only came up with a couple pages. And non were even close.

Yeah, the 300 is WAY more common.

The Lexus GS, while well-crafted and well-built, is stylistically deficient. I'd prefer a Seville.

Well put... I agree with Jesda, except for the 01 plus models with the Mark Levinson audio and touchscreen Nav system plus Xenon lights. In that case the features and power outweigh the looks.

I bet you could find a 2001 STS Premium for less than a 98 GS400 in similar condition... :shh:

I have been saying that for weeks and everybody shoots me down. The v-8 in the GS400 is virtually bulletproof! But be forwarned- My freinds GS had a brakebooster go out after his warranty expired and it cost more than any GM transmission (1200$) If your gonna get one make sure you get at a low mileage example with a warranty. I hate spending big bucks on a vehicle I just got and I assume you do too. BTW: watch out for the power window motors too-they go out alot and big money also. SS

Our family's LX470 has the Mark Levinson system. Its nice but nothing to get wildly excited over. I wouldnt call it a dealmaker.
