Why can't we get any of these built?

Ford GT90 (1995 Concept)
Quad Turbo V12
720hp @ 6600 rpm
660 ft lbs @ 4750 rpm
5 speed manual
0-60: 3.1 (est.)
Future: Ford released the Ford GT, but used the retro-styling of the GT40.

Cadillac Cien (2002 Concept)
XV12 Northstar
750hp
450 ft. lbs.
Semi-automatic 6 speed
Future: The XV12 Northstar will power the Cadillac Twelve ULS car.

Cadillac Sixteen (2003 Road-Worthy Concept)
V16 Northstar
1000hp
1000 ft. lbs.
0-60: 2.5 (est.)
Hydramatic 4L85-E 4 speed Automatic
Future: Cadillac has plans for a ULS in the near future. The monster V16 may not make it into production though. Rumors state it may even be the DeVille replacement in 2008.

Chrysler ME Four-Twelve (2004 Concept)
Quad Turbo V12
850hp @ 5750 rpm
848 ft lbs @ 2500 rpm
Ricardo 7 speed Automatic
0-60: 2.9 (est.)
Future: Chrysler says it will build. No production plans officially announced as of yet.

Re: American SuperCars : The Concepts

That body style of the Sixteen would make a nice replacement for the Eldorado. Vertical tail lights as so elegant...

yeah, i'm thinking the same thing. the profiles of the cars look so much alike, it's not even funny. and caddy shouldn't have forsaken the Eldo, it's the best caddy ever!

Re: American SuperCars : The Concepts

The Sixteen is a pillar-less sedan (not a 2 door coupe) and is 20 feet long (it has 4 wheel steering). I think it is closer to a DeVille than an Eldorado.
Of course, the Eldo may see a return if Cadillac makes a coupe version of the STS. Imagine a coupe ETC-V to do battle with BMW's new 6 series.

Re: American SuperCars : The Concepts

Cost?

They would probably sell good in Europe but most Americans equate exotic Supercar with Mercedes, Ferrari, etc? Not Chrysler.

Re: American SuperCars : The Concepts

I think if Chrysler made the Four Twelve, people wouldn't hold it in the same leauge as an LHS or Cirrus...

That's true, but I wonder if they would perceive it as a quality American Supercar? Remember, Cadillac is still not perceived as good as they are because of the 1980's. I think the Corvette and Viper are already sort of in this category and never had any negative quality stereotypes imo.

Thumbs up Re: American SuperCars : The Concepts

I think the Cien and the Sixteen are, by far, the BEST concept cars to come out of Detroit in my lifetime!!!
