Re: stock CTS-v vs modded SHO

I just had a wonderful idea.

Turbo 3.2 SHO motor (can you turbo the 3.2 or is it just the 3.0L?) in an 88-94 Continental! You'd have Lincoln luxury, sleeper looks and massive amounts of power.

I don't know much about the SHO's, but damnit I love the first and second gens! Before I bought my '92, I looked at a '94 ATX SHO....it was very nice, but I didn't get to run it hard and I was pretty much dead set on a Caddy anyways.

Seriously? You all are talking about how cool a Taurus is? Wow...I guess I'm missing something.
Please tell me this thread is a joke.

Re: stock CTS-v vs modded SHO

SHO was a big achivement for Ford.
Despite the fact they had to outsource the engine.
During that era the SHO did not have to be all that cool to still be cooler than anything Cadillac had.

I'll throw a guy some props for turboing a SHO to the point of making it faster than a V.
That is not an easy engine to mod compared to our LS6's.

All you guys with stock V's, get modding.

Jim, I would have expected you to have enough mods to handle a SHO, if you are going to hang in that circle.
Oh well, at least you still have a warranty.

Re: stock CTS-v vs modded SHO

wow your talking about a ford and a cadillac. Im speechless they arent even anywhere near the same class. The sho was fords top of the line, cadillacs top of the line would be IMO the STS-V now throw twin turbos, nitrous, port & polish, headers, exhaust, intake, and every other goody out there then we'll see what it's about. take the 235hp stock 1997 sho and put it up against a 300hp stock 1997 sts and i guarantee the results would be the same as the other setup i put above. Oh yeah and the only thing in fords class would be a chevy or a chrysler. If you wanna talk luxury speed we'd have to talk Cadillac Vs. Lincoln or i'll even go as low as Buick Vs. Mercury.

Hey goofball. It was 2 friends racing their pride and joy. While I have the fast, comfortable, warrantied Cadillac, he has the faster, somewhat comfortable, way way out of warranty EARLY 90s SHO. A 1997 is looked down upon by the V6 purists. Ford indeed dumbed down the Gen III SHO. What's your point? The point to this thread was simply a video of us.

Why don't we race a Cimarron to my V? Would that satisfy you?

Um, my V was 3 months old at the time. And I was running around 4700lbs loaded.

You sound like a Bimmer or Mercedes owner asking if we're serious asking how cool a Caddy is. No, this thread is no joke.

The V and SHO are very similar in a lot of ways. I suggest you tone down your shock. There are a LOT of current and former SHO owners driving Vs...

Re: stock CTS-v vs modded SHO

I don't understand all of the arguing here. Some friends had a race. Someone won, someone lost. Nobody withheld information regarding weight or conditions. No problems here, move on.
