    Is it true?...18's only?

I have been "building" the CTS-V for a few weeks now, as my 2009 CTS is nearing ninety thousand miles (Oil changes, brakes and front axle bearings, that's it). What's up with no wheel upgrade? Will we have to go aftermarket, or does anyone see a 19's or 20's OEM option in the near future? Graphite finish maybe?

Ats has 3 GM accessory rim options. They're all 19s and are all the same rim but in different colors. I'm willing to bet there are some GM accessory options for the cts if not those exact rims. And they're nice rims too. I get performance means smaller rims for lower unsprung weight and rolling mass but looks matter too.

    V or V-Sport?

V comes with 19" wheels. V-Sport and all other 3rd gen CTS' come with 18"s.

Yep I missed that one. I assumed you're posting on the vsport section so you're talking about the new cts vsport. If so, see my answer. If not, wrong forum.

V-sport is correct. Just waiting a bit to see what happens with the first 5000-10,000 units to shake out. As always, we can assume teething problems....and a proper 8 speed..and proper 19" wheels....Just sayin'

Yeah I'm willing to get GM accessory rims that are available on the ats are available on the cts.

I think the 18 inch wheels offered on the Vsport look really good. I was actually pleased they used an 18 as a standard wheel, as 18 is a good size for performance - good handling without being too harsh. The Pirelli P Zero tires are also really good, although pretty expensive and short tire life.

There are already wheel options available for the new 2014 CTS application.

    Re: Is it true?...18's only?

I also think the V-Sport wheels look great, and look bigger than 18 inches on the car. So far , no one has commented that they look small, and they undoubtedly perform better than 19s would, weighing less where it counts the most. The CTS-V had 19's to accommodate it's huge brakes, which it needed because of the higher weight. Since the V-Sport weighs nearly 400 lb less than the CTS-V, it can use smaller brakes and wheels, which help keep the weight down. The CTS also seems to be styled as to not need enormous wheels to look good, which I approve of.

    Ats is 5x115

I stand corrected. Well I still think we'll see something for the cts in the GM accessories catalog

I tried to send this to you as a PM, but it bounced, appreciate any help…

Would really appreciate your input on winter rim/tire combinations for the 2014 Vsport Premium, as mine is essentially a $70K paper-weight with the current winter conditions in Chicago.

I have a full forum post ("Winter Tires") on this, but here is the summary:
--Car has stock 18" wheels and Pirelli "summer only" tires
--I would prefer to get a rim/tire package for the winter months, but no one seems to have a cue about correct wheel specs for that (have talked to GM, Cadillac HQ, 4 dealers, Pirellii, Michelin, and three tire shops locally)
--Best I can come up with is to put Micheline Alpin PA4s in 245/40R18s all around, mounted on the factory rims (rears are 18" x 9.5", fronts are 18" x 8.5")
--Can you recommend rims I could use for those Alpins? Do you have any concerns about putting the 245/40s all around (stock is 275/35s on the back, with the 245/40s up front)?

Thanks in advance for your help. Feel free to post your reply in the forum, as others are waiting for answers on this as well.

    John

    Your math is off.
Outgoing CTS-V Sport Sedan curb weight: 4253 lbs (automatic)
2014 CTS Vsport curb weight: 3952 lbs
2014 CTS Vsport Premium: 4026 lbs

So fully loaded, it's only 227 lbs lighter; at best it's 301 lbs lighter.

    That's not nearly 400 lbs.
