I searched and didn't see anyone mention that they added protective film to the front of their car. Just wondered if you did and what brand. Thanks

Yes, I had one installed by Alara Garage here in Houston.
I've used them on my last 4 cars and had zero issues... ever.

I had the entire front end from mid-hood forward, mirrors and the front edge of the rear wheelwell area behind the door.

You can barely see it on my black car.

Yep. This is my 5th vehicle.
    Wash/wax/abuse as usual.

    There is basically no maintenance.

On my last Corvette, I had someone back into me and the film actually saved the paint underneath from harm (Corvette is plastic so no panel deformation).
I had the film replaced in the area... good to go.

Frankly, I do not know why ANYONE would NOT do this.

i did my entire front end and a 5 inch on the front part of the roof, mirrors, door cups, the door edges for banging against things which saved the paint when my cousin opened the door to fast and it a pole, and i had the rear end done also where the luggage bangs on the bumper and the entire trunk door.
installer used a company by suntech i believe with the nano technology thing, only maintenance was using meguiars cleaner wax on it, shines nicely.

Ditto here. Full front all the way to front doors and full hood. Best investment I made. The film is 3M.

I had Xpel Ultimate film installed on the front (full hood, fender), rocker panels, mirrors, door cups/edges on my black V-Sport. Supposedly, this stuff is 'self healing', but we'll see about that. Clear Bra is absolutely a must in my opinion, especially on darker colors.

If you don't mind can I ask the cost? I have a local dealer here who wants almost $900, I would like to see how his price compares. Thanks.

$900 for the full front, mirrors, and door trim seems pretty good to me. I paid a lot more for my install. Make sure to ask what material they're using.

It is the Expel, he was telling me about the "self healing properties".

I have been using Xpel on my cars since 2002 - My Vsport was just covered this weekend. Now I can go full throttle and not sweat the road projectiles..

Re: Did anyone add protective film to their V sport?

I did a lot of research comparing 3M, Xpel & Suntek. Went with Suntek this time for my Phantom Grey VS. Full hood, full fenders, bumper, lights, rockers and lower door. Lee Berbs in Hillsborough, NJ (also near Tampa) did the install. It took almost 2 full days. I'm in CT and there's no shops here that use Suntek so it was a long drive to NJ and I had to leave the car, but very impressive results. Had other cars done w/ 3M, but Suntek has better finish and gloss. Would definitely do it again. I highly recommend Lee. It was worth the drive.

On the other hand, had dismal experience with Clearplex windshield protection film. It's similar to paint protection film but much stiffer. The co. pre-molds the film, but we tried 4 times over 9 months to install it at authorized shops without success. Their support was lacking. A lot of money down the drain. I later found that most installers (like Lee) won't touch the stuff because it's so difficult to work. Chalk that up to a hard lesson learned.

Is this really worth putting on the car?

If it's that good why don't more people do it?

Can the dealership install this product?
