    Cue - Add Nav?

I've had my ATS close to a full 24 hours. I love the car!

My car has CUE but doesn't have nav. I can't help but think it should be fairly easy to add. I asked the salesman and he said it's only available from the factory.

Any idea if I can add maybe a sensor module (and change a setting or two) to enable Nav? (maybe insert a special DVD to load the nav software)

GM has no upgrade path for something that "should be fairly easy to add" ... if you truly want nav you better talk to your salesperson about getting out out of that car and into one with nav asap

Yea, I'm pretty sure you're out of luck with the NAV option. I agree that your best bet is to switch trims.

The electrical harness in you present car, wil not marry with the navigation package.

I first ordered my car in Luxury trim without Nav. When I told my wife there wasn't a CD player she wanted it because she listens to books on CD. My dealer then gave us Nav for 700 bucks extra. Since we have changed to the premium trim but to be honest for an extra 700 bucks I can't see ordering the car without Nav.

JSATS - I didn't realize you don't get a CD player without the NAV in the Luxury model.

You can't get a CD player without Nav and 10 speaker surround sound.

I read an article that chevy mylink will soon allow you to use your smartphone's navigation app. I wish I could remember where I saw that. I don't know if that would apply to intellilink and Cue.

It's a bringGo navigation app to be available later on in the year...

Appears to be only for Chevy mylink system...

That was being touted when Cadillac first introduced CUE...

Mine does not have Nav yet has the glove box CD player. It is a Standard with a lot of the Luxury options.

[QUOTE=SCATS;3164683]you CAN get CD without Nav/QUOTE]

You CANNOT get nav with the standard trim level. With standard trim level, if you do NOT get CUE, you do NOT get a CD player. If you get CUE, you get a CD player in the glove box and the 10 speaker system. Do not know how this works on the non-standard trim levels.

SCATS - I also got the standard trim level with CUE, 2.0T, and manual - sounds like we have very similar cars - the only other option I opted for was heated seats.

If the Onstar turn by turn works via GPS, I would think that the hardware is in every ATS. Any software engineers care to comment? Can the CUE software be cracked to add nav?

    Re: Cue - Add Nav?

No, unfortunately the OnStar Turn By Turn service runs internal to the OnStar module, which does have its own GPS receiver. When you have nav, a GPS splitter is added and an additional coax cable is run to the nav module. When you don't have nav, that splittler and cable are not present. So, in order to get Nav, you'd have to add that as well as swap the module for one with the additional navigation hardware (gyro, accelerometer, etc.) that also aren't present in the non-nav version.
